Overview

 The Sociology Dept. of Loyola College, Thiruvananthapuram has been a forerunner in promoting the discipline in Kerala since its inception in 1963. The early masters of this Department were instrumental in the formation of the Kerala Sociological Society and in the formulation and conduct of various research undertakings and activities of various Governmental and non-Governmental bodies in the State. The department has received meritorious citation by the peer team for its research contributions and publications during the recent NAAC re accreditation process. This has been instrumental for the college for achieving an A grade with a high score of 3.72 on a 4 point scale
