Where scientific insight meets human compassion

Program Overview

Psychology is a dynamic and ever-evolving field that delves into the richness of human thought, emotion, and behavior. At Loyola, students explore core areas of psychological inquiry—cognitive, emotional, social, developmental, and cultural—while reflecting deeply on how these processes shape our lives and relationships.

The Bachelor of Science in Psychology at Loyola is more than just a degree—it’s a journey of discovery, empathy, and transformation. Rooted in the Ignatian vision of forming persons for and with others, our program is designed to shape socially conscious, ethically grounded, and scientifically skilled psychologists who are ready to make a meaningful difference in the world.

In a country like India, where mental health resources are often scarce and psychological distress is on the rise, our program places a strong emphasis on compassion, resilience, and professional competence. We believe that future psychologists must not only understand the science of the mind but also embody the heart of service.

To help students tailor their academic journey to their interests and career goals, the program offers four specialized tracks:

  • Clinical Psychology
  • Counseling Psychology
  • School Psychology
  • Organizational Psychology

These specializations provide focused training and practical exposure in key areas of psychological practice, preparing students for diverse roles in mental health, education, corporate settings, and community care.

Through a blend of rigorous academics, hands-on research, fieldwork, internships and community engagement, our students graduate equipped not just for higher studies or professional careers—but as advocates for mental health, inclusion, and social justice.

Our Goal

To nurture graduates who are intellectually sharp, ethically responsible, and socially committed—ready to apply psychological science to enhance well-being, especially in communities where resources are limited.
