Qualitative Data Analysis is an important tool for social research and it allows an in-depth understanding of a social phenomenon. This programme also imparts skills in software package used for qualitative data analysis. It is useful for both researchers and practitioners.

ATLAS.ti is a qualitative data analysis tool. It helps the researcher to visually present the qualitative data of large bodies of textual, graphical and audio or video. It offers a variety of tools for accomplishing the tasks associated with any systematic approach to “soft” data: material which cannot be analyzed by formal, statistical approaches in meaningful ways. Eligibility: Candidates who have a bachelor’s degree in any field with a minimum of 45% of marks will be eligible, for admission to this certificate programme. The admission is open to all the fourth-semester students pursuing their post-graduate programmes and research scholars of Loyola College.

Course duration: 40 hours

Course objectives:

After completing this programme, participants will be

  • Explore data by creating themes and sub-themes
  • Capable of interpreting the qualitative data and arriving at logical conclusions.
