Department of Computer Science

Overview

The Department of Computer Science at Loyola College of Social Sciences has been established in the context of introducing the new Four-Year Undergraduate (FYUG) programmes from the academic year 2025–26. Initially, the department will offer minor courses designed to support the curriculum requirements of various major programmes such as B.Sc. Data Science, B.Com. (Finance and Accounts, Fintech and AI, and Logistics and Supply Chain Management), B.Sc. Psychology, and BSW, thereby equipping students across disciplines with essential computer skills. With a vision to grow into a full-fledged department offering major programmes in the near future, it aims to keep pace with the evolving academic and professional landscape. Alongside the core courses in computer science, the department will also provide minor tracks in emerging areas such as Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, ensuring students gain both foundational knowledge and exposure to cutting-edge technologies.
